The beneficial effects of sports training happen when we rest. If your rest isn't adequate you're not only wasting some of the sweat & tears shed in your workout... you're also risking physical and mental burn out. But many of us are either too busy to take rest, don't know how to recover effectively or are resistant to the principle of slowing down.
This 10 minute guided relaxation helps you slow down, connect with breath and body so as to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. This is your time to 'rest & digest'. It will also aid better sleep and improve heart rate variability (a measure of your readiness to train on any given day). Below is a 30 minute post-exercise yoga class for you to enjoy. |
